Antica Sartoria

HISTORY

Antica Sartoria translates to ‘Ancient tailoring’ in english and there is a reason for this. Years ago in the beautiful village of Positano (Italy), people travelling from the city used to find the weather, ocean and lifestyle difficult to adapt to. This was due to the major difference in clothing. Of course, after this a lot of the tourists would then flock to the local shops for more suitable clothing. Noticing this, the locals then began making a living selling the ‘Positano’ look. This look consisted of people improvising by shredding scarves, cotton towels and sometimes even wedding dresses.

WHO OWNS ANTICA SARTORIA?

As the Antica Sartoria look was crafted by the locals of Positano, it comes as no surprise that the two owners are locals themselves. Giacomo Cinque and Riccardo Ruggiti are the founders, creators and owners of the well renowned brand. They are incredibly passionate about art and still run multiple Antica Sartoria shops, including two out of their hometown.
